Hanford freshmen make impression at swim meet
Wenatchee defeated visiting Mid-Columbia Conference teams Walla Walla (125-58), Richland (119-64) and Hanford (114-71) on Saturday.
Hanford freshmen Skyler Younkin and John Markillie clocked top times of the day. Younkin won the 100-yard butterfly in 54.66 seconds, while Markillie was timed in 50.70 in the 100 freestyle.
The Falcons also led the field in the 200 free relay, with their “A” team winning in 1 minute, 35.25 seconds.
Richland senior Luis Hernandez was first overall in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.62.
Walla Walla senior Darian Corpus beat Wenatchee’s swimmers in the 100 free, touching the wall in 53.71.
