Mid-Columbia roundup for Jan. 7: Bombers edge Falcons on mat

Richland lost its final match to host Hanford on Thursday night, but the Bombers prevailed 36-34 in a Mid-Columbia Conference crosstown wrestling showdown.

The Bombers (2-0) led by five points going into the 160-pound match to finish the night. Hanford’s Brock Higgins posted a 4-2 victory over Kyle Tucker, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Hanford (0-4) has lost two contests coming down to the final match. The Falcons had two forfeits, which did not help their cause.

Richland’s Noah Reyes (138 pounds), Patrick Workman (145) and Anthony Lovato (152) earned pins, while Xavier Zavala beat Cley Green 7-0 at 106.
