Kamiakin boys rally to beat Squalicum
Hayden Nelson piled up 19 points and 13 rebounds, and the Kamiakin Braves bounced back from a rough first quarter to beat Squalicum 55-45 on Wednesday at the SunDome tournament in Yakima.
Koby Bailey added 11 points for Kamiakin, which trailed 18-5 after the first quarter.
“I’m proud of the kids,” Braves coach Brian Meneely said. “The key was the second quarter (15-8 Kamiakin), sticking together and just not falling apart when we got down.”

CENTRAL VALLEY 76, RICHLAND 64: The Bears used a 26-10 run in the second quarter to pull away from the host Bombers and hold on for a nonleague victory.
Richland (5-3), led by Steven Beo’s 31 points, went on a 44-point tear in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to erase the deficit, which reached 23 points in the third quarter.
Landon Radliff added 12 points and seven rebounds for Richland, while Tyler Kurtz chipped in nine points and five rebounds.
Tanner Sloan led Central Valley with 23 points.

KENNEWICK 55, ANACORTES 50: The Lions built up a healthy third-quarter lead at 39-27, enough to stand up to a strong fourth quarter by the Seahawks in a win Tuesday at the SunDome shootout.
“We were just holding on to victory, and we did a nice job (10-for-10) at the free-throw line, obviously,” Kennewick coach Bradyn Leyde said. “We made some shots in the clutch. (Saul) Nieves hit a 3 in the fourth quarter to put us on top for good.”
Nieves hit three 3-pointers to lead the Lions with 13 points, while Nico Benavides and Dillon Plew scored 12 apiece.
Tristan Lowry led Anacortes with 19 points.
