Mid-Columbia roundup for Oct. 13: Hanford fends off Kamiakin in shootout

Hanford outshot Kamiakin 4-2 in the shootout, giving the Falcons a 3-2 Mid-Columbia Conference girls soccer victory over the visiting Braves on Tuesday night.

Hanford (9-2) took sole possession of second place in the MCC with the win over Kamiakin (8-3).

Falcons keeper Kelsee Winston had 14 saves, including one penalty-kick save.

Chelsea Marozik’s regulation goal gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead. But the Braves’ Maddie Morgan tied the score at 2 in the 77th minute, forcing overtime and then the shootout.

Ellie Harlow, Marozik, Hannah Thompson and Anabel Lin scored for Hanford in the shootout.
