Richland boys, Kamiakin girls top seeds as 4A basketball tournaments begin Thursday
Here are the final standings for the Mid-Columbia Conference after Tuesday night’s final regular-season games. The first round of both the 4A District 8 tournaments for boys and girls is also ready to go on Thursday, Feb. 8.
The 3A boys tournament needs some shaking out still.

That game will happen at 6 p.m., Thursday at Southridge High School.
Listed below is the first round of the 4A district tournament for both boys and girls.

▪ Thanks goes to Prosser basketball statistician Sean Hall, who keeps everyone updated on what’s going on with the Mustangs, with a couple of notable achievements.
First, Prosser boys coach Toby Cox led his team to a 74-55 victory over highly touted Grandview on Jan. 6. It was Cox’s 100th career win as head coach at Prosser.
Then on Jan. 9 in a 71-58 victory over Selah, senior Kory McClure scored his 1,000th career point for the Mustangs.
Finally, on Jan. 20 in a 70-55 win over Ellensburg, junior Koby McClure scored his 1,000th career point.
Don’t know if I’ve ever seen two brothers score their 1,000th career point in the same season before.
College updates

▪ Grand Canyon University’s Cannon Angotti (Walla Walla) did well at the New Mexico Invite indoor track meet on Jan. 26-27.
Angotti placed fourth in the men’s 3000 meters, with a time of 8 minutes, 17.18 seconds.
