Cross country: Correas go 2 for 2 at Moses Lake Invitational

Johan Correa blew the field away and Geraldin Correa nipped her closest competitor at the line as Kennewick High School’s star cross country siblings swept the varsity races at the Moses Lake Invitational on Saturday.

Johan, a junior, trekked the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 13.6 seconds, nearly 40 seconds ahead of second-place Grant Avila from Deer Park, and Geraldin, a sophomore, finished a second ahead of Deer Park Senior Becky George in 19:52.07.

Connell Junior Nolan Chase took fifth in the boys varsity race with a 17:19.8 and Royal’s Kay Lester took eighth in the girls race in 21:33.57.
