Girls golf: Southridge's Warner wins first pod

MCC Pod 1: Southridge’s Catherine Warner got off to a strong start in Mid-Columbia Conference girls golf play, firing an 8-over 80 at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland to win by three strokes.

The senior shot a 37 on the back nine to overtake Pasco’s Neydeen Martinez. Martinez finished second with an 83, while Jalayne Martinez was third at 84. Hanford’s Lacy Skwarek and Walla Walla’s Jessica Huntsman are tied for fourth at 85.

The Blue Devils lead the team standings at 381, while Kamiakin is second at 392 and Pasco third at 401.
