Boys golf: Richland High dominates first MCC pod

The Richland High boys golf team flexed its muscles Monday in the first pod of the Mid-Columbia Conference season at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland.

The Bombers took the top four spots in the medalist standings to win the team title by 40 strokes.

Drew McCullough and Evan Hattori led the way with a 2-over par 74s, while Carl Underwood was third at 75 and Andrew Hattori fourth at 78.

For good measure, Richland’s Quinton Parnell and Nick Yamauchi finished 12th and 13th.

Hanford was second at 341 strokes, while Walla Walla was third with 356.Kamiakin’s Pierce McDonald and Hanford’s Eric Dahl tied for fifth with 8-over 80s.

Greyhound Invitational: The Hermiston boys golf team shot a 330 to take second place at Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside, two strokes behind Ephrata which shot a 328.

Paden Lacoursiere’s 78 led the Bulldogs, while East Valley’s Andrew Raab took home medalist honors with a 71. Othello was third at 355 and Prosser seventh at 381.
