Strankman fires 76, ties for 5th in PNGA women's am qualifying

Spokane's Megan Haase fired off a two-round even par total 142 (72-70) to take medalist honors in the qualifying portion at the 111th PNGA Women's Amateur Championship at the 6,001-yard par 71 Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria, British Columbia.

Richland's Kristin Strankman improved on her first-round performance and finished tied with two others at fifth with a total of 156 (80-76).

And Penny Baziuk of North Saanich, British Columbia won the Women's Mid-Amateur title with 150 (78-72).
