Richland's Cartmell in top 30 at senior men's amateur
Tom Brandes of Bellevue shot a three-round total of 222 (77-75-70) to win the Senior Division on Friday at the 48th PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur Championship in Cle Elum.
Richland’s Dick Cartmell had 238 (80-80-78) to finish in a three-way tie for 29th. Chris Indall, also from Richland, filtered into a three-way tie for 42nd with 243 (82-87-74).
Gaylord Davis of Portland shot 228 (76-75-77) for the Super Senior title. Grandview’s Akira Nozaka tied for sixth with 241 (81-82-78), and Richland’s Ed Mackan had 250 (82-88-80) to place 14th.
Tom Agrey of Delta, British Columbia, won the Open Division with 234 (80-83-71). Kennewick’s Pat Conway placed 22nd with 260 (85-88-87).
