Kennewick's Mandell takes 3rd at NW Jr. PGA

TUMWATER -- Southridge senior Nick Mandell shot a 2-over-par 74 in the boys age 16-18 division in the final round of the Pacific Northwest Junior PGA championship to finish third overall at the two-day event at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.

Kirk Garber of Kirkland shot a final round of 65 to finish at 140, edging runner-up Christopher Petefish of Wauna by one stroke.

Caroline Englis of Eugene won the girls 16-18 division with a 2-under 70 in her final round, finishing at 146 to beat Megan Haase of Spokane by one stroke.
