Richland's Bixler earns his Canadian Tour player's card

It appears that Kennewick’s Kevin Tucker isn’t the only Mid-Columbian who earned exemption status on the Canadian Professional Golf Tour.

Richland High School graduate Zach Bixler also earned his card for the 2012 season on Friday at The Country Club at Soboba Springs in California.

Bixler, who played collegiately for the University of Washington, fired a four-round score of 295, tying him for 25th.

The top 30 placers earned exemption status.

Tucker finished second in the tournament Friday, with a 282.

Both Bixler and Tucker will open the season June 7-10 at the Times Colonist Island Savings Open in Victoria, British Columbia.
