CBC baseball sweeps
Spencer Bennion (Chiawana) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Drew Loera homered to lead a 16-hit attack as Columbia Basin College won a wild offensive affair, 13-8, over Shoreline in NWAC baseball Sunday.
The Hawks (13-3) won the second game 9-8 thanks to eight errors from the Dolphins (5-11) and some timely relief throughout.
Kooper Blair (Prosser) and Nick Crawford combined for three scoreless innings, allowing the Hawks to stretch a three-run lead to 9-3 heading into the seventh. The visitors rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth. Cole Hunt then came on with the tying and go-ahead runners on second and third and two out, hit the first batter he faced but then got the strikeout to finish off the win and the sweep.
Logan Green doubled and drove in two runs in the game.
The Hawks open NWAC East play Wednesday with a pair of games at Big Bend.
