CBC women beat NWAC East leader
The Columbia Basin College women’s basketball team earned a key NWAC East victory Wednesday night, beating first-place Wenatchee Valley 77-67 in Pasco.
Cayla Jones had 19 points, leading four CBC players in double figures. Marissa Caballero (Grandview High School) scored 15 points, Amber Jones 14 and Sierra Perez (Pasco) 12.
Emily Botkin grabbed 10 rebounds for the Hawks (14-10 overall, 6-3 NWAC East), who are third in the regional standings.
Jillian Jacobs led Wenatchee Valley (19-5, 7-2) with 15 points, while Drew Carlos had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
CBC trailed 35-34 at halftime but outscored WVC in both quarters of the second half to extend their winning streak to three games.

WALLA WALLA 91, YAKIMA VALLEY 50: Tabitha Wellsandt (Kamiakin) scored a game-high 20 points, and Kennedy Corrigan (Richland) racked up 12 assists to lead the Warriors to a big home win over the Yaks.
Walla Walla, which led 45-24 at halftime, improved to 16-6 overall and 5-4 in the NWAC East.

CBC MEN 82, WENATCHEE VALLEY 76: Andrew Reddout scored 23 points, and Brad Scott (Southridge) finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hawks past the Knights in Pasco.
CBC (11-11 overall) is tied with Yakima Valley and Walla Walla for third place (5-4) in the NWAC East.

WALLA WALLA 83, YAKIMA VALLEY 79: The Warriors, who got 17 points from Payton Radliff (Richland) and 11 from Mitch Mueller (Kennewick), held off the Yaks to win the NWAC East contest in Walla Walla.
Walla Walla’s Roman McKnight led all scorers with 24 points as the Warriors improved to 11-13 overall.
