NWAC basketball roundup for Jan. 23: CBC men falter against Spokane

SPOKANE MEN 105, CBC 83: Andrew Reddout had 26 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals, but the host Hawks (8-10, 2-3 NWAC East) couldn’t keep pace with the Sasquatch (19-2, 5-0).

Jake Love scored 23 points for Spokane, and Dalton Patchen had 21 points and 11 rebounds.

BIG BEND MEN 99, WALLA WALLA 88: Keshawn Liggins scored 20 points, and Ryker Pierce had 19 to lead the host Vikings (15-6, 5-0 NWAC East) over the Warriors (7-13, 1-4).

Jarid Downey led Walla Walla with 21 points, and Roman McKnight chipped in 14.

SPOKANE WOMEN 86, CBC 71: Cayla Jones and former Grandview High standout Marissa Caballero combined for 30 points, but the Hawks (11-9, 3-2) lost to the Sasquatch (14-6, 3-2) in NWAC East action in Pasco.

CBC was outscored 50-33 in the first and fourth quarters by Spokane, which got 28 points from Bri King and 19 from Katlyn Summers. They went a combined 18-of-21 from the free-throw line.

WALLA WALLA WOMEN 73, BIG BEND 63: Tabitha Wellsandt (Kamiakin) had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Kennedy Corrigan (Richland) scored 15 points in the Warriors’ NWAC East road win over the Vikings.

Wellsandt hit 8 of 9 free throws for Walla Walla (14-4, 3-2). Big Bend (7-14, 1-4) lost its fourth in a row.
