CBC women’s basketball loses opener

Cayla Jones scored 21 points and Marissa Caballero added 18 points and seven rebounds, but it was enough as the Columbia Basin College women’s basketball team lost at Lower Columbia 75-65 to open their season on Saturday.

Katie Hankins led the Red Devils with 20 points.

Volleyball

Walla Walla Community College finished 2-2 in the NWAC Volleyball Championship Tournament in Tacoma after losing to Clark College 25-13, 25-17.

Tori Wegdahl had 20 of the Warriors’ 34 digs, while former Kamiakin High School player Dani Burke finished with five assists. She totaled 66 assists in the tournament for WWCC (29-20).
