CBC baseball earns NWAACC tourney berth

CBC captures NWAACC berth: Kenton Brunson hit three home runs and drove in eight RBIs on the day to help lift Columbia Basin College to a pair of victories that earned the Hawks a spot in the NWAACC tournament beginning May 22 in Longview.

CBC, which beat Walla Walla 18-7 to open the day and then topped Treasure Valley 10-3, will play TVCC again at noon today to decide the East region tournament championship.

CBC exploded for 28 runs on 23 hits on the day and took advantage of 13 errors by the Warriors and Chukars.

“To beat Yakima Valley, Walla Walla and Treasure Valley all in a 24-hour period is huge for them all the way around,” Hawks coach Scott Rogers said.
