CBC women's golf making strides toward perfect season

The Columbia Basin College women are off to a fine start in trying to stay unbeaten on the season.

The Hawks opened a 23-stroke lead over second-place Spokane after the first day of play at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard. Hope Neidhold (10-over 82) and Bri Hadler (83) are 1-2 atop the field, with teammate Abby McMinn fifth at 91.

“The girls really played well,” said coach Dan Clifford.

The CBC men are in seventh place, 10 strokes behind Walla Walla in sixth. Jack Tumlinson topped the Hawks wiht an 82, tied for 18th.
