CBC baseball splits with Wenatchee
Travis Key hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning as Columbia Basin College rallied for a 6-4 victory Wednesday in the opener of an NWAACC East doubleheader against the Wenatchee Valley Knights at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium in Wenatchee.
Stetson Plew (Kennewick) came on in relief in the fifth inning and picked up the win, allowing two hits and striking out three in 42⁄3 innings.
In the nightcap, the Knights trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the third, but exploded for 10 runs in the inning en route to a 16-7 victory to earn the split.
Nathan Culver hit a home run and drove in three runs for the Hawks (17-7, 8-6 East), who issued a school-record 15 walks during the game.
