CBC softball goes 2-2 at Crossover Tourney
The Columbia Basin College softball team won twice at the NWAACC Crossover tournament in Mount Vernon, beating Centralia 9-5 and then following up with an 8-2 win over Grays Harbor on Sunday.
Brittany Mitchell anchored the Game 1 win with a three-run home run, and Hannah Sams went 3-for-3 in Game 2 with a double and a triple.
Sams and Bailey Walthers also represented CBC in the sophomore all-star game, won by the East when Walla Walla’s Marissa Gonzalez blasted a walk-off three-run homer.
The Hawks lost twice Saturday, 12-3 to Lower Columbia and 9-4 to Chemeketa.
