Texas A&M sophomore Lisa Bratton (Richland) won the women’s 200-yard backstroke to conclude her SEC Swimming & Diving Championships in Columbia, Mo., with three titles and a runner-up finish.

She also helped lead the Aggies to their first SEC women’s team championship since joining the conference in 2012. Texas A&M scored 1,166.5 points, Tennessee was second with 1,139.5, and six-time defending champion Georgia took third with 1,099.5.

Bratton set a school and Mizzou Aquatic Center record with her 200 back time of 1 minute, 50.64 seconds, automatically qualifying her for next month’s NCAA Division I Championships. She beat Kentucky junior and defending champion Danielle Galyer (1:50.73), who was fourth at last year’s NCAA championships.

Bratton, Jorie Caneta, Sarah Gibson and Beryl Gastaldello won the 400 medley relay Friday in a season-best and NCAA “A” time of 3 minutes, 30.15 seconds, the third-fastest in school history. Their time also was a pool record.

Bratton won the 200 individual medley Wednesday and was second in the 400 IM on Thursday.
