Sophomore guard Cierra Jo McKeown (Touchet) was named the NWAC Women’s Player of the Week after leading Walla Walla Community College to wins over Yakima Valley, North Idaho and Blue Mountain.

McKeown averaged 26.3 points on 61.2 percent shooting, including 54.8 percent from the 3-point line. She also added 12 rebounds, 16 assists and three steals.

“Cierra Jo had a very solid week in three East Region games,”WWCC head coach Bobbi Hazeltine said. “Her near 26-point average was impressive, but even more impressive was her shooting percentage. Cierra has been consistent like that all year for us.”

The Warriors, who have won 16 games in a row, are 6-0 in East Region play and 18-1 overall.

McKeown, who already has signed to play at UC Davis next year, ranks third in the NWAC in scoring at 21.5 points per game, and ranks third in 3-point shooting at 41.5 percent.

She also is second in points scored with 409 points. She has made 66 3-pointers and is 43 of 49 from the free-throw line.
