College update: Richland’s Prussing earns academic honors at Linfield

Linfield College tennis player Trent Prussing (Richland) was honored for his work in the classroom by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, which announced its 2017 All-Academic Scholar-Athletes on Tuesday.

Prussing, a sophomore, is majoring in accounting.

To be included as a member of the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have received a varsity letter for 2016-17, maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, and have been enrolled for at least two semesters at their current institution.

EASTERN OREGON FOOTBALL: John Lesser (Liberty Christian) ran for 54 yards on 15 carries for the Mountaineers in a 28-20 loss at College of Idaho. He also caught one pass for 4 yards.

In three games, Lesser is the team’s second-leading rusher with 197 yards on 40 carries.

EASTERN WASHINGTON SOCCER: Alexis Stephenson (Chiawana) had two goals and one assist Friday as the Eagles beat Nevada 4-0 in women’s soccer. Stephenson leads the team with four goals.

Freshman keeper Kelsee Winston (Hanford) posted the shutout, her second of the season.
