Fishburn, Fletcher post top times at 37th Lampson Cable Bridge Run

Kamiakin High School senior Phillip Fishburn turned in the top performance at Saturday’s 37th annual Lampson Cable Bridge Run in Kennewick and Pasco.

Fishburn won the 10-kilometer race in 33 minutes, 51 seconds, finishing just 3 seconds ahead of Richland High School freshman Riley Moore. Val Mendoza of Grandview was third in 34:48.

Michelle Fletcher of Kennewick won the women’s 10K in 38:02, finishing ahead of Richland’s Erin Hegarty (38:40) and Kennewick’s Stephanie Rexus (42:50).

Joel Such of Pierce, Colo., won the men’s 5K in 15:55, 10 seconds ahead of Marcel Such, also of Pierce. Cayle Turpen of Richland was third in 16:17.

Alyssa Hawley of Spokane won the women’s 5K in 20:14. Prosser’s Andrea Slonecker was second (20:35) ahead of Richland’s Suzie Strickler (20:45).

Peyton Sperl of Prosser won the 1-mile in 5:51, well ahead of Joey Hatch of Prosser (6:20) and Jonas Richter of Richland (6:41). The women’s 1-mile was won by 11-year-old Mazie Hansen of Paterson in 7:30. Samantha Petersen of Kennewick was second (9:02) and Chrissy Beus of Pasco third (9:23).
