State high school football semifinals set Saturday
The state high school football playoffs are set for next weekend with semifinals all over the region.
The Richland Bombers will play the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups in a Class 4A semifinal at 1 p.m. Saturday at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco.
That game will be the first of a doubleheader at Edgarn Brown.
Liberty Christian of Richland, trying to return to the state championship in Class 1B, will take on Almira/Coulee-Hartline at 4 p.m. at Edgar Brown in a semifinal.
Meanwhile, Prosser will play Sedro-Woolley at 3 p.m. Saturday at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima in a Class 2A semifinal.
And in Class 1A, Connell and Royal will meet in a semifinal featuring the two SCAC East powers.
That contest will be played at 4 p.m. Saturday at Lions Field in Moses Lake.
The Tacoma Dome will be hosting seven state semifinal games in various classes over Friday and Saturday.
ACH 30, TOUCHET 22: Dallas Isaak scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter, and Almira/Coulee-Hartline hung on Saturday night to beat Touchet in the Class 1B quarterfinals.
ACH will play Liberty Christian on Saturday in the 1B semifinals at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco.
Carlos Rincon had a hand in all three Touchet touchdowns, scoring on a 62-yard run, throwing a 19-yard TD pass to Lot Butler, and a 44-yard TD pass to Leo Garcia.

CBC WOMEN 108, HIGHLINE 68: CBC rebounded from an opening-night loss to Lower Columbia on Saturday to beat Highline in a nonleague game in Longview on Sunday. No other details were available.
SALT LAKE CC MEN 106, CBC 79: The Hawks men lost their second consecutive game late Saturday in Caldwell, Idaho. No other details were available.
WWCC WOMEN 73, CHEMEKETA 59: Wa-Hi grad Kate Ferenz scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Walla Walla CC women past Chemeketa on Sunday at the Yakimsa Tip-Off Tournament.
The Warriors finished the tournament with a 2-1 record, beating Clark 67-65 on Friday before losing to Treasure Valley 62-58 on Saturday.
College volleyball
BLUE MOUNTAIN CHAMPS: After dropping the first game 25-23, Blue Mountain won three straight games 25-17, 25-22, 25-20 over Clark of Vancouver to take the NWAC volleyball title on Sunday at the Tacoma Convention Center.
Miah Perez had a team-best 13 kills for Blue Mountain, while Southridge High grad Jordan Mix and Keri Schwarz each added 11.
Maci Beierle had 26 assists, while Hannah Bailey added 28 digs for the Timberwolves , who won the NWAC title for the fourth straight year and fifth out of the last six seasons.
