NASCAR Driver Thomas Annunziata Transported to Hospital Following Terrifying Fire at Lime Rock Park

Scary situation in the NASCARCraftsman Truck Series race at Lime Rock Park. Thomas Annunziata, the winner of the ARCA Menards Series race on Friday, was involved in an incident on track while the race was under caution.

After completing 79 laps of 100, Thomas Annunziata was running P2 under caution with a chance to win the Truck Series race. However, coming to the fronstretch under the caution flag, Annunziata's truck burst into flames and was quickly engulfed in smoke.

On the FS1 broadcast, it was announced that Annunziata has been transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation. Annunziata fell to his knees after exiting his truck and appeared to be having a hard time as he leaned on safety crew members to stand after the incident.

Tricon Garage released a statement after the race: "Thomas Annunziata is awake and alert and being transported to an area facility [for] further evaluation."
