Stephanie White Updates Caitlin Clark's Injury Status For Sunday's Game vs. Aces

Caitlin Clark has been battling a back injury that has limited her to less than 20 minutes over the past two games. But what does Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White have to say about her status ahead of Sunday's big game against the Las Vegas Aces?

According to Chloe Peterson of IndyStarSports, White has said that Clark will be available against the Aces on the road tomorrow, albeit with a catch. Clark will reportedly be on a 20-25 minutes restriction for the game.

"Caitlin Clark will be available against Las Vegas tomorrow, Steph White says, on a 20-25 minutes restriction," Peterson wrote on X today.

Injuries for Clark

2026 has been yet another rough year for Clark due to injuries. She missed two games after that now-infamous Phoenix Mercury incident in late June and was then limited to just 16 minutes in her return against the Los Angeles Sparks on July 8. Clark was given rest the following day in their win over the Mercury.

Now that she's had a few extra days to rest her back though, it looks like Clark will be eased back into full fitness. Though that might be a tall order against the Aces, who sit atop the WNBA mountain right now at 16-6 on the season.

Even with injuries limiting her to 18 out of the 22 games this season, Clark is still on pace for her best season yet. She's averaging a career-high 20.5 points per game thanks to improvements in her field goal percentages. Her 36-minute average, meanwhile, is even better as she averages an impressive 24.6 points per 36 minutes on the court - that's a full five points better than her rookie season.

With Clark putting up numbers like that, it's understandable that White would be willing to ere on the side of caution with her best player. It's also worth noting that the Fever are a perfect 4-0 in games Clark hasn't played this season.

At 13-9 overall, the Fever are tied for the fifth-best record in the WNBA.

The Fever play five more games before the All-Star break.
