Dodgers Starter Justin Wrobleski Receives Good News on Saturday
The Los Angeles Dodgers will now have six All-Stars representing the National League in the Midsummer Classic.
Left-handed starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski was named an NL All-Star on Saturday after a stellar first half of the season. He will replace Cincinnati Reds right-handed starter Chase Burns on the NL roster.

The Dodgers have dealt with a slew of pitching injuries in their rotation this season, including Tyler Glasnow (back) and Blake Snell (surgery to remove loose bodies in his left elbow). But Wrobleski, 25, has formed a three-headed monster atop the Dodgers' starting rotation alongside Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Wrobleski is having a breakout season, his third in the big-leagues, posting a 10-2 record, 2.69 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 100.1 innings (15 starts, 16 appearances). He began the season in the bullpen, but entered the Dodgers' rotation for his second outing of the year and never looked back. He is eighth in the National League in ERA, tied for second in wins and tied for third in WHIP.
As a result, he has now been selected to the first All-Star Game of his career. Wrobleski joins five other Dodgers teammates on the NL roster: Ohtani (won't participate, knee), Yamamoto, first basemanFreddie Freeman, third baseman Max Muncy and center fielder Andy Pages.
Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts will be managing the NL All-Star team and heavily campaigned for Wrobleski to be selected to the roster after he wasn't picked initially.
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball at 61-34 and lead the National League West division by 13.5 games. As previously mentioned, the Dodgers will be heavily represented at the All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park.
Los Angeles will finish up the first half of the season today and Sunday against the NL West rival Arizona Diamondbacks.
