Is Marc Guehi Playing Tonight for England vs. Norway at the World Cup Quarterfinal?

England will need to get past Norway if they want to keep their dream of bringing the World Cup home alive.

The Three Lions are coming off an impressive win over Mexico, a performance many have described as one of England's best in World Cup history.

Two Goals from Jude Bellingham and one from Harry Kane sealed the victory for England at the famous Azteca Stadium.

Marc Guehi, one of Thomas Tuchel's reliable defenders during the tournament, was also a part of the squad that beat Mexico in the round-of-16.

However, reports later claimed the defender back had been dealing with a hamstring issue and missed Thursday's training session, raising doubts about his availability.

Is Marc Guehi Playing Against Norway?

Guehi has appeared in all five of England's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making four starts and one substitute appearance against Croatia.

The latest reports, however, have provided England with a major boost. Guehi has returned to training at Fort Lauderdale and is now expected to be available for the quarterfinal.

Declan Rice and Reece James have also reportedly resumed training ahead of the match.

As things stand, Guehi is expected to play against Norway and is in contention to start.

Thomas Tuchel Gets Honest About Norway

Ahead of the quarterfinal, England manager Thomas Tuchel praised Norway's quality and warned against underestimating them.

"Norway overperform. But internally they know very well how good they are. They proved it. They eliminated a big, big, big nation [in Brazil] on a big stage. And from there on, there is no such thing any more as favourites."

Tuchel also acknowledged that many believe the pressure is on England, but insisted his players are embracing the challenge rather than fearing it."

"I understand that it's a bit of a lighter situation [for Norway] and they can ride this wave. But we're not thinking in this matter and I don't feel our players are playing with fear. I don't feel the weight of the shirt. And now we go. No matter who is on the other side, no matter if we are favourites or not or if the pressure is on," he said.
