WNBA to Send Warning as Angel Reese Nears Suspension
Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream improved to 12-4 on the season after winning their fourth straight game on Monday.
Atlanta defeated the Toronto Tempo 94-87 behind a balanced effort from its starters and a huge game off the bench from rookie center Madina Okot.
Rhyne Howard led the Dream in scoring with 20 points, while Allisha Gray and Okot had 18 points each. Jordin Canada added 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Reese herself chipped in 11 points, nine rebounds and one block.
Despite the victory, Reese got some bad news during the contest. She received a technical foul with 1:16 left to play in the fourth quarter for what the referees deemed a hostile act.
While Reese was not happy with the call, the technical foul stood and increased her technical foul count to five on the season.
As a result, the WNBA is set to fine Reese $1,000 for the technical foul. As the league rules state, the fourth through seventh technical fouls of a player carry a $1,000 fine each.
Furthermore, because it is her fifth technical foul of the season, she's due to receive a warning letter from the WNBA. This is because if Reese reaches eight technical fouls, she will be fined $1,500 and suspended for one game.
It's worth noting that Reese also leads the league in flagrant fouls with two Flagrant 1 fouls called on her.

It's not only Reese who is set to get a warning letter from the WNBA, though. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark also received her fifth technical foul of the season against the Phoenix Mercury on the same day, putting her in line for the same disciplinary action as Reese.
