Joe Rogan's Surprising Exchange with Trump About Terror Threat at UFC White House Event

Podcaster Joe Rogan has revealed a startling backstage exchange with President Donald Trump during the historic UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House South Lawn. The conversation occurred while Rogan, who also provided commentary for the event, was voicing concerns about the possibility of a terrorist attack at the high-profile gathering, which apparently was a real possibility according to UFC CEO Dana White.

While Rogan initiated the joke, President Trump's response left the commentator momentarily speechless.

Trump's Response

"I said to Trump, I go, 'I hope we don't die in a terrorist attack,'" Rogan recalled on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience alongside UFC Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje and Gaethje's coach, Trevor Wittman.

According to Rogan, the president's reply was unexpectedly blunt and fatalistic.

"He goes, 'We got to go somehow,'" Rogan recalled.

The reaction from the UFC commentator was one of genuine shock.

"I go, 'What the f-, dude?'" Rogan said, laughing but clearly caught off guard by the president's demeanor.

Security Fears Confirmed

The exchange happened before the public was aware of a serious security threat targeting the event.

According to the U.S. Justice Department, five men were charged with conspiring to target the June 14 event, which was held on the South Lawn to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States as a country.

UFC President and CEO Dana White revealed that there were actually multiple threats that night.

Officials claimed the conspirators planned to use explosive-laden drones and snipers against fleeing targets.

Justin Gaethje and Trevor Wittman Reactions

Guests on the podcast admitted to feeling the tension of the high-profile venue.

Coach Trevor Wittman revealed, "I was honestly really nervous, Joe... The drones that they stopped. Like again, I wasn't knowing what to expect till after the fight because again, we couldn't take it in. It was a beautiful thing."

The fear of the unknown was a shared sentiment backstage. They specifically cited worries about drone strikes amid the ongoing conflict with Iran.

UFC Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje, however, expressed his nonchalance about the potential danger.

"F- it," Gaethje said. "If I get taken out in the middle of the cage, how f---ing legendary would that be?"

He later acknowledged the moment would be memorable but something he would prefer to avoid. Wittman jokingly replied, "No, I'll pass"

Event's Historical Significance

A Legendary Night

Despite the underlying tension, Rogan hailed the event as a monumental success. He claimed the setting and Gaethje's victory gave the fight card historical weight.

"This is never going to happen again," Rogan said.

He also compared it to the legendary boxing fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in 1974, saying, "This is more historic than Rumble in the Jungle".

Rogan ultimately described his experience at the White House as unforgettable. "It was one of the greatest events that any sporting event has ever put on," Rogan said. "I mean, maybe the greatest sporting event in the history of the world."

He remained grateful for the opportunity to witness it live.
