NBA Legend Kevin Garnett Makes Bold Statement on Olivia Miles

Olivia Miles has taken the WNBA by storm since being drafted No. 2 by the Minnesota Lynx. She has also drawn the attention of NBA legend Kevin Garnett, who issued a bold statement about the rookie guard.

Garnett played with and against some of the greatest players in history. He has an extensive résumé that includes winning an NBA championship, receiving league MVP honors and earning 15 All-Star selections.

The 50-year-old praised Miles highly on Sunday. He expressed his strong belief that she is one of the best rookies ever across both professional leagues.

"Olivia Miles is one of the best rookies in ALL of basketball… @nba or @wnba " Garnett posted on X.

Miles is leading the race to win this year's Rookie of the Year award. She has helped the Lynx to a league-leading 13-4 record with her averages of 18.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals. Her playmaking ability, combined with her shot-making, has been a huge asset to her team.

The TCU product is fresh off a standout 2025 season with the Horned Frogs. She was named Big 12 Player of the Year and received a first-team All-Big 12 nod. Miles led the program to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Garnett, on the other hand, retired in 2016 after 21 seasons. He finished his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team that drafted him No. 5 in 1995.

He is a one-time NBA champion, one-time NBA MVP and was awarded as the Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. The Boston Celtics honored him by retiring his No. 5 jersey in 2022, 14 years after he led them to a title.
