World Cup Fans Annoyed By Crowd Shots During 2026 Tournament
The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup is a little more than a week old at this point.
The U.S. men's national team is 2-0, having defeated Paraguay and then Australia. The Americans have already advanced to the knockout round and will take on Turkey in the final game of group stage later next week.
FOX has been getting a lot of praise for its World Cup broadcasts, too. However, some fans have a growing problem with FOX's broadcasts. Fan are getting annoyed with the amount of celebrities that are being shown in the stands. Instead, fans would like normal fans to be shown on TV, rather than the rich celebrities and athletes.
One European fan wrote: "This might be the most difficult cultural adaptations yanks have to make to truly join the global football family: we don't care about celebrities in the stands. The cameraman's job is to locate and then zoom into international baddies whenever play is stopped."
Another fan added: "Big issue at this World Cup has been the camera cuts to celebrities and American athletes instead of crowd shots of baddies from around the world."
World Cup fans are in agreement
Fans want less celebrities and more normal fans to be shown.
"Broadcasts keep pushing celebrity culture when the real vibe has always been the fans in the stadium," one fan wrote.
"Bring back the tradition of broadcasters finding the most photogenic person in the stadium every 10 minutes," one fan added.
"FOX needs to do better," one fan argued.
