Kyrie Irving Breaks Silence On Him Missing Cavaliers' Championship Reunion
The Cleveland Cavaliers celebrated the 10-year reunion of their NBA championship run this week, but fans noticed that Kyrie Irving wasn't present.
LeBron James, Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, Richard Jefferson, J.R. Smith and several other members of the 2016 Cavs have been spending time together in the United Kingdom.
Earlier this week, Smith stirred up controversy by claiming Irving "ghosted" his former teammates.
"Missing none," Smith wrote on social media. "He was invited and ghosted us all. So stop with that bs."
After days of silence, Irving responded to that claim from Smith with a graphic from Cleveland's historic championship and a subtle message.
"All for one. One for all," Irving wrote on Instagram. "WE completed the mission together as brothers, and that's all that matters to me."
Kyrie's impact in the 2016 Finals was undeniable.
The Cavaliers erased a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors in large part because of James and Irving's heroics.
James rightfully won Finals MVP for averaging 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. Make no mistake though, Irving (27.1 points per game) was clutch as can be during the late stages of that series.
Hopefully, Irving and his former Cavs teammates can get back on good terms for their next reunion in 10 years from now.
