Rams Put Target on Their Backs With ‘Legendary' Comments
The Los Angeles Rams won the offseason and should be a favorite to win the Super Bowl.
The Rams traded four total picks, including a 2026 first-rounder, for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. On June 1, Los Angeles sent defensive end Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick for star pass-rusher Myles Garrett.
It’s fair to say the Rams were serious about going all-in for 2025 NFL MVP Matthew Stafford this year.

During an appearance on “Up & Adams” on Thursday, Rams safety Kam Curl put up some bulletin board material, suggesting the defense has a chance to be “legendary.”
“Right now it’s early,” Curl said. “It’s real early. It’s only what, June? But it’s early … I feel like we’ve got a chance to be legendary. Just the type of guys we got, just the coaches we got, man. We got a bunch of experience back there. We’ve got some Super Bowl winners in there, you know what I’m saying?
“We’ve got some Defensive Player of the Years. We’ve got some guys that, if we do what we’ve got to do, we can be one of the best.”
The Rams needed a better defense after losing 31-27 to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game in January. The Seahawks went on to win the Super Bowl.
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell sarcastically joked that the Rams had already won the Super Bowl after trading for Garrett. Seahawks head coach Mike MacDonald noted that there’s so much that needs to happen before the season even starts before the Rams can be viewed as the top team in the NFC.
With Garrett, the Rams should be viewed as a favorite to win the NFC. But Los Angeles will face heavy pressure this season, and they’ll have a target on their back for every game of the regular season. With every touchdown that gets scored on the Rams defense, there will surely be some offensive players jawing at the Rams about their “legendary” status.
It’ll be up to the Rams to live up to their potential and make great plays. If they can stop opposing offenses and win the Super Bowl, the legendary talk will really begin.
