Erin Andrews Is Loving The Start Of The 2026 FIFA World Cup
Just like countless sports fans around the world, NFL reporter Erin Andrews is loving this year's FIFA World Cup.
The first week of the 2026 World Cup didn't disappoint, that's for sure. Christian Pulisic and the United States flexed their muscles with a 4-1 win over Paraguay, Lionel Messi had a hat trick in a statement win over Algeria, and Cabo Verde shocked the world by securing a point against Spain.
Cabo Verde goalkeeper Vozinha became an internet sensation overnight, gaining over eight million followers on Instagram. Clearly, fans were impressed by his clean sheet against Spain.
"He was overwhelmed with emotion," Cape Verde manager Bubista said. "He is quite an experienced player and has struggled throughout all of these years to be here at this world stage. It was also a cry of resilience."
We're not sure if Andrews is watching every match this tournament has to offer, but we know for certain that she's cheering on the United States men's national team.
Andrews, 48, showed off her team pride Thursday by posing for photos in a U.S. soccer crewneck.
"It's giving sporty chic," Andrews wrote for her caption.
Looking at the USMNT's path.
The USMNT will return to the spotlight Friday for a Group D showdown with Australia. It's unclear if Pulisic will be active for that match.
"Hopefully he can be there tomorrow," U.S. soccer star Weston McKennie said. "I know he really wants to be and he's doing everything he can, and the staff is doing everything they can as well. That's probably better to ask him rather than me. I'm in my own la la land."
Friday's match between the U.S. and Australia will begin at 3 p.m. ET.
