Ghana vs. Panama Player Ratings- Who Was the Man of the Match In the World Cup Game?
Ghana vs Panama was the last match for Group L of matchweek 1. Ghana won it dramatically as the goal arrived in the 95th minute of the match.
Ghana beats Panama 1-0 with a goal from Caleb Yirenkyi, the defensive midfielder who tried to push further up the pitch throughout the game.
In the first half, Panama looked more threatening with their attacks, but failed to trouble the Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who made one save.
Ati-Zigi suffered a knock late in the first half and needed to be taken off before the start of the second half. He was replaced by Benjamin Asare. Panama was closest to scoring first in the first half than Ghana.
In the second half, Ghana had more chances and were the better team for the first 30 minutes. Panama would slowly gain momentum with Ismael Diaz creating chances from the left flank.
Panama was vulnerable on a few occasions when Ghana tried to counter, but Panamanian goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera was there with a big save late in the match.
It wasn't enough to avoid the defeat as Ghana pushed, and in the 95th minute, Brandon Thomas-Asante put a perfect pass to Caleb Yirenkyi, who tapped the ball into the net.
The man of the match goes for a 20-year-old midfielder, who not only scored the winner but also completed three dribbles and was crucial defensively as well.
