Lionel Messi's Wife Grabbed 4.4 Million Likes With Poolside Swimsuit Photo
Lionel Messi's final World Cup campaign with Argentina is officially underway.
Messi led the Argentina national team to a World Cup title back in 2022, securing the only significant trophy that was missing from his collection. Now, his country will try to successfully defend their World Cup title.
Argentina won't be handed any victories this June, that's for sure. The champs have showdowns with Algeria, Austria and Jordan on its schedule.
"Calm because it's just a game of football. We have the experience of the last World Cup, the first game is not fundamental. It's important, but it doesn't end with the first game," manager Lionel Scaloni said. "We are good, we are calm. We are facing a good team with good players. But we are calm, we are arriving at a good moment."
Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, is expected to attend Argentina's matches during the 2026 World Cup. After all, she's been by his side throughout his entire journey with their country's national team.
Well before Argentina solidified its roster for the World Cup, the legendary soccer star's wife had the internet buzzing simply by posting swimsuit content online.
Roccuzzo's poolside photoshoot received a whopping 4.4 million likes on Instagram.
Messi and Roccuzzo's love story goes back decades.
Vanity Fair España reported that Messi and Roccuzzo met as children in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina. It wasn't until 2009 that they went public with their relationship though.
Messi and Roccuzzo have welcomed two sons into the world, Thiago and Mateo. They became parents prior to their wedding in June 2017.
"My wife, Antonela, has lots of great qualities," Messi said. "I really admire how she deals with the day to day, she is always in a good mood and she approaches problems admirably. She is highly intelligent and well rounded in all aspects of life."
It sure sounds like Messi and Roccuzzo have an unbreakable bond.
