Saints Officially Re-Sign Cam Jordan: Franchise Sack King Says 'I Needed a Job'

Cameron Jordan and the New Orleans Saints have reportedly come to an agreement on a one-year deal that will keep the franchise veteran and fan favorite exactly where it all began for his 16th NFL season.

According to NFL Network insider, Ian Rapoport, the popular defensive force who holds the Saints' all-time record for sacks at 132, was finalizing a one-year contract on Tuesday, June 16, that's loaded with incentives in order to remain home in New Orleans.

Considering that the charismatic No. 94 had reportedly been "open to leaving New Orleans" and hitting the free agent market when the league window opened, this serves as especially great news for the Saints' franchise and its fans, which is now officially official.

However, given Jordan's prior comments, had he ended up leaving the Saints for a bigger deal it likely would have come as a pretty stunning surprise.

"I'm in New Orleans until they don't want me," Jordan said to Up & Adams host Kay Adams. "I'll be at the facility until my face isn't recognized anymore. One day this fingerprint won't work, but it won't be today."

Cam Jordan's Saints Return and What It Might Mean for 2026

First things first, with Jordan sporting a fresh new haircut and stating it was because he "needed a job" is exactly why, in addition to countless other reasons, the Saints and its devoted fan base strongly preferred to keep him in New Orleans for season 16 after being taken 24th overall by the team back in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Quite honestly, it appears that no one could be happier about this news more than Jordan himself, who took a trip down memory lane in his most recent post on Twitter/X.

As Jordan put it, "9-4Ever" might easily translate as the 2026 season serving as the final chapter of his decorated NFL career.

At the age of 36 (Jordan will turn 37 on July 10), it makes plenty of sense that this will more than likely end up being his NFL curtain call, but the one-year deal Jordan signed is reportedly coming with plenty of incentives that will allow for the star defensive end to go out on a true high note.

While the fine details of Jordan's one-year contract have yet to be made public, the safe guess is that the large majority of his "incentive-laden deal" is directly tied to what he's done best throughout his career.

All Jordan has to do now is attempt to duplicate, or maybe even expand upon what proved to be an outstanding 2025 season that saw the franchise legend record 10.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hits.

"We love New Orleans," a smiling Jordan said after signing the deal. "So, just overly appreciative of the Saints organization."

Throughout his 15 seasons with the Saints, Jordan is a three-time All-Pro in addition to eight Pro Bowls and being named to the NFL's "2010s All-Decade Team," a squad that included some truly legendary names of the game like Tom Brady and Aaron Donald.
