Jalen Brunson Addresses WWE Star Danhausen Uncursing the Knicks
The New York Knicks are NBA champions, ending a drought of over 50 years to bring home a third title to New York City, thanks to the performances of many players, and potentially the lifting of a curse.
Jalen Brunson scored 45 points to propel his team to a Game 5 win, ending the series over the San Antonio Spurs, 4-1, and claiming the NBA Finals MVP trophy for his efforts.
Game 4 of the series will go down in history with an iconic game-winning tip-in shot courtesy of teammate OG Anunoby to help the Knicks come back to win after trailing by 29 points earlier in the game.
And throughout the crazy run, a WWE star named Danhausen continued to take much of the credit for those wins, due to his presumed powers to curse or uncurse people and sports teams.

During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the entire New York Knicks basketball team appeared on the show to discuss the championship run. During an interview segment, Fallon mentioned that Brunson’s a WWE fan and asked him if he believed in Danhausen uncursing the team.
“At first, I was a little skeptical, but you have to believe it now,” Brunson said when asked if Danhausen had “something to do with it.”
“DANHAUSEN KNEW THEY BELIEVED. Thank you @jalenbrunson1 @karltowns and @fallontonight for confirming Danhausen’s cursing and uncursing powers to the world,” the WWE star wrote, reacting to the segment on Instagram.
Initially, Danhausen crashed a segment on ESPN, where he felt Stephen A. Smith was “rude” and cursed him along with the Knicks. However, someone ordered one of Danhausen’s Cameo videos, paying him “human monies” to lift the curse.
After that, the Knicks went on an impressive winning streak and ultimately won the NBA championship to end that lengthy drought. During Monday’s episode of “RAW,” WWE released a story recap of his involvement in their postseason run.
The professional wrestling star, whose real name is Donovan Danhausen, officially debuted for WWE earlier this year and has become immensely popular due to his involvement with the Knicks’ playoff run. It’s led to further appearances on ESPN and at the games, as well as official merchandise, such as this shirt merging the WWE star’s name with Brunson.
There are also rumors that Danhausen will be at the New York Knicks celebratory parade, and a special part of an upcoming WWE “Saturday Night’s Main Event,” which occurs at Madison Square Garden on July 18.

It’s definitely been incredible to see the rise of Danhausen, who was somewhat popular back in All Elite Wrestling, but saw his popularity explode immensely with the Knicks’ story. One has to wonder if this will propel him to bigger things in WWE, as he’s yet to claim any championships and mostly appears in backstage or in-ring segments.
