President Trump Will Be Allowed To Lift World Cup Trophy With Winning Country
The World Cup has reached a final decision on President Trump's inclusion this summer.
The 80-year-old President of the United States was on the trophy stage during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final between Chelsea and PSG at Metlife Stadium last summer. But that was the FIFA Club World Cup. How will things turn out during the FIFA Men's World Cup this summer?
According to a report by Ben Jacobs of the U.K. outlet talkSPORT, the FIFA Men's World Cup has already reached a final decision on President Trump's inclusion this summer.
According to the report, President Trump will be invited to help lift the trophy for the winning country on the celebratory stage.
"The US president has already been told FIFA wish him to hand over the World Cup trophy to the eventual champions," the report states.
It's tradition for a member of the winning country to bring the trophy on stage.
"Sources say FIFA will leave it to Trump's own discretion as to whether he wishes to stay in with the team during the lift or remain with other executives during the ceremony," Jacobs reported, adding that "White House insiders believe Trump will again choose to celebrate with the victorious team."
North America is the host of the 2026 World Cup, with Mexico and Canada also being a part of it and hosting games. However, the World Cup final will be held at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey next month.
