Caitlin Clark Makes Major Move After Career Announcement
Caitlin Clark is putting together the strongest statistical season of her WNBA career. Through Indiana's first 13 games of 2026, she is averaging 20.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game while helping guide the Fever to an 8-5 record. With Clark leading the offense, Indiana has begun to establish itself as a legitimate contender and one of the more dangerous teams in the league.
Her impact, however, has extended far beyond the court. Clark remains arguably the WNBA's biggest draw, driving television ratings, attendance and social media engagement at historic levels. Due to Clark's popularity, even minor changes to her public profile tend to attract significant attention from fans.
That was the case on Monday when Clark updated her Instagram username to caitlin1 and changed her profile picture, prompting immediate speculation across social media.
The change comes as anticipation continues to build around the launch of Clark's first Nike signature shoe. While neither Clark nor Nike has publicly connected the social media update to the release, many fans believe the change could be tied to the rollout of the highly anticipated Caitlin 1, which Just Fresh Kicks confirmed will be released on Sep. 29. Clark also teased the release on June 8, telling reporters that her first signature sneaker is coming "very, very, very, very, very soon" (h/t Chloe Peterson of IndyStarSports)

The release will mark one of the most significant milestones of Clark's professional career. The 24-year-old is one of the most valuable athletes in women's basketball, and reportedly inked a landmark eight-year endorsement deal worth up to $28 million in 2024. Clark merchandise is among the best sellers in sports and her signature sneaker is expected to be one of the most anticipated footwear launches.
While fans continue to eagerly await the launch of her shoes, Clark will return to action on Tuesday when the Fever host the Toronto Tempo at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Indiana will be looking for it's fourth consecutive win, and will again rely heavily on Clark.
