WNBA to Punish Isabelle Harrison After Angel Reese Incident

Angel Reese had another monster game to help the Atlanta Dream defeat the Toronto Tempo, 102-77, on Sunday. She finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds, along with one steal and one block.

The Dream trailed by as many as 13 points in the first quarter, but they quickly turned things around with a 34-14 second quarter. Atlanta went up by as much as 27 points, with Toronto unable to outscore them for the rest of the contest.

Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard led the Dream in scoring, combining for 50 points while shooting over 50% from the field.

While it was a remarkable performance by Reese and the rest of the Dream, it wasn't without issues.

Tempo forward Isabelle Harrison actually hit Reese with a hard foul midway through the third quarter. After the Dream star received the ball under the basket, she tried to power her way through Harrison.

Harrison, however, tackled Reese to the ground, leading to a heated exchange between the two teams. Reese was also visibly emotional after the highly physical moment.

As for Harrison, her foul was initially called a common foul before the referees upgraded it to a Flagrant 2 and ejected her.

Making the moment even more shocking is the fact that Harrison and Reese used to be teammates. They played together for one season in 2024 during the latter's rookie year in the WNBA.

Harrison is expected to be punished for her actions, though. The WNBA's rules state that each flagrant point carries a $500 fine. A Flagrant 2 foul counts for two flagrant points, which means a $1,000 punishment for the Tempo player.

Harrison is also now two flagrant points away from an automatic one-game suspension. If she gets another flagrant point then receives a Flagrant 2 foul, she could face a two-game suspension.

The Dream and Tempo will face each other once again on June 22, so it will be interesting to see how Reese and Harrison match up against one another when they meet for the second time this campaign.
