Spurs Will Allow Knicks Fans To Attend Game 5 Of NBA Finals

New York Knicks fans might have gotten a slightly rude awakening today amid reports that the San Antonio Spurs were planning to revoke tickets from people trying to get into the game that bought them outside of Texas. But are the Spurs really following through with that?

The answer appears to be no. According to SNY reporter Ian Begley, the Knicks-owning MSG Sports Corp. released a statement a short while ago announcing that after speaking with Spurs ownership, they can confirm that there is no such ban on who gets into the Frost Bank Arena.

"Contrary to prior reporting, we've confirmed with Spurs ownership that they will not be revoking any tickets that Knicks fans have to tonight's game in San Antonio and all ticket holders will be allowed in to Frost Bank Arena. We look forward to tonight's game," MSG Sports said.

Knicks fans were quick to claim victory, declaring that they were able to stop the Spurs from keeping them out of Frost Bank Arena.

"It was all a hoax to get Knicks fans to not show up, spurs knew they couldn't do that in the first place," one fan declared.

"Thanks for the helpful information Ian. No matter if you're a Knicks or Spurs fan, everyone should be able to purchase tickets and attend the games," wrote another.

"Bullying works," a third joked.

"Let's go Knicks!!!"

The Crucial Game

It's do-or-die time for the Spurs. They became just the third team in NBA history to drop Games 1-2 at home before splitting Games 3-4 at Madison Square Garden. Down 3-1, they have to win out in order to win the title.

But the Knicks can't take their lead for granted either. Two of their three wins are arguably the result of some pretty lucky bounces combined with some all-time boneheaded decisions by the Spurs at time. They definitely won't be treating Game 5 like they'll have a mulligan at MSG next week.
