Key Canadian Players To Watch at the World Cup

Alphonso Davies will captain the side at the tournament. The Bayern Munich defender remains the face of Canadian football and one of the country's most influential players. Although he entered the tournament recovering from a hamstring injury, he remains a central figure within the squad.

The team also includes vice-captain Stephen Eustáquio, who provides stability in midfield and plays an important leadership role.

One of Canada's biggest attacking threats is Jonathan David. The striker has consistently delivered goals for club and country and enters the World Cup as Canada's all-time leading scorer.

Tajon Buchanan is another key player. Capable of playing on either flank, Buchanan brings pace, creativity, and direct attacking play.

In defence, Alistair Johnston and Moïse Bombito are expected to play major roles.

Goalkeeping duties are likely to be shared between Maxime Crépeau and Dayne St. Clair, both of whom have been important members of the national team setup in recent years.
