Lamine Yamal Is Going Viral for What He's Doing in the United States

When an 18-year-old goes abroad, it’s always a fun time.

Now take that regular 18-year-old and make him one of the most famous people on the planet.

Then add the World Cup on top of that, and that’s what you have with Barcelona ace Lamine Yamal, who is having the time of his life the first week in the United States for the Spanish national team.

Not only is Yamal having fun on the field and staying after practice to sign autographs for fans in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but he’s also taking in the classic spots that every American knows.

His latest spot that has the 18-year-old generational talent going viral on social media?

Walmart.

Currently practicing in Florida before their first game of the tournament in a few days against Cape Verde in Atlanta, Yamal decided that he didn’t need any team officials to pick up snacks for him and his teammates.

Instead, the player who would cost $1 billion for another team to break his contract with Barcelona, went out on his own with some teammates to Walmart to grab some drinks and food from the local establishment.

Although the young star wouldn’t have been able to move if he tried to move this move in Europe, he was, for the most part, able to be who he is at the store: an 18-year-old kid just wanting something to eat along with his friends.

He didn’t get out of the store without taking one fan photo, though, as the Spanish attacker was spotted by at least one soccer fan in Florida.

Yamal turns 19 on July 13, which would be six days before the World Cup Final set in MetLife Stadium. If Spanish fans are lucky, they’ll hope photos of Yamal shopping in New York or New Jersey pop up that week.
