NFL Accused Of 'Gouging' Fans With 2026 Broadcast Schedule

It's more work than ever for NFL fans to figure out which TV channel or streaming platform their favorite team will be playing on each week.

While CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN continue to air the majority of NFL games, more and more are moving to streaming platforms. YouTube TV, Netflix and Peacock will all be airing several games throughout the 2026 season.

Is this fair to fans?

It's where we're at in 2026 - everything is moving to streaming and where the money and subscribers are - but it's incredibly frustrating for fans across the league - and all sports in general.

Fox News contributor Clay Travis accused the NFL of "gouging" its fan base for money with its 2026 broadcasting setup.

Travis spoke at a U.S. Congressional hearing on the NFL's antitrust laws in Washington, D.C. this week.

NFL gets called out for 'gouging' fans

Travis made it clear that he's not a fan of the model.

"Every single day, sports fans are getting gouged now for the opportunity of watching their favorite teams. Fans now pay far more money every year for something that by law in 1961 you all guaranteed for them should be free," Travis began.

"Most of your constituents are frustrated. They don't know how to find games, and they are having to pay far too much when they have the opportunity to actually watch those games. I don't know how many of you remember back in the day when you can have one remote control in your hand, and you can easily flip to any different game... They just want to be able to watch their favorite team and not have to struggle to do so."

"You guys have an important responsibility and an opportunity to apply the law fairly, freely, and help fans everywhere across the entire nation pay less and get more."

The NFL is facing continued heat for its setup in regards to streaming.

But will anything change?
