Knicks Announcer Monica McNutt Issues Apology To Taylor Swift

ESPN announcer Monica McNutt has become public enemy No. 1 for Taylor Swift's fans this week.

McNutt is the lead analyst for 880 ESPN New York's coverage of the Knicks. With that being said, she was on the call for Wednesday night's epic Game 4 comeback at Madison Square Garden.

Well before the Knicks erased a 29-point lead, McNutt noticed that Swift was sitting courtside for Game 4. We're not sure if she knew her microphone was on, but she questioned the Grammy Award winner's fandom.

"Is that Taylor Swift down there? That's her," McNutt said. "She's not a Knicks fan, get out of here, girl."

Swift fans immediately fired back at McNutt, pulling up old photos of the "Shake It Off" singer wearing Knicks apparel.

It didn't take long for McNutt to respond to Swifties.

McNutt spoke to TMZ this Thursday about her hot mic incident. Not only did she own up to her mistake, she apologized to Swift.

"Swifties, I appreciate your passion. I said what I said. I am wrong, apparently, because she's got an Amar'e Stoudemire jersey," McNutt said. "I misspoke. Context - I just did a piece on celebrity row. I know these folks - Ben Stiller and his wife Christine, Spike Lee, Fat Joe. I had not seen her here this year or last year. We just saw her in Cleveland with her fiancé. Obviously, Travis supports the Cavs. We didn't see her in Knicks paraphernalia."

We'll see if Swifties accept this apology from McNutt.
