Video Of Victor Wembanyama's 'Dirty' Move Has 1 Million Views
San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama was accused of trying to injure New York Knicks star OG Anunoby in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
The Knicks pulled off the largest comeback in Finals history on Wednesday, erasing a 29-point deficit at Madison Square Garden. The Spurs had everything clicking in the first half, but Jalen Brunson and the Knicks wouldn't be denied in crunch time.
Although the Knicks now have a 3-1 series lead, their fans are still furious with Wembanyama.
During the end of the first quarter, Wembanyama nearly took out Anunoby's right knee. It's unclear if he lost his balance or if he was trying to rough up the star forward for the Knicks. All we know is that Wembanyama's clumsy play received over 1.1 million views on X in just over 12 hours.
Judging by the reactions online, NBA fans are convinced Wembanyama was attempting a dirty move on the hardwood.
"For those of you who don't think Wemby is dirty explain this without saying its AI," WFAN's Craig Carton said.
"Wemby is a generational talent who is going to win 2-3+ titles in his career with good health. He's a deer on skates out there with his legs and elbows," a fan wrote. "Fix it now, man. You're too good for this."
"I'll give Wemby the benefit of the doubt here BUT it does seem like this man can't control or regulate his emotions well at all," a second fan commented.
"Trying to sell an intent to injure as a push is some awful business," another fan said. "Wemby is a monster."
Wemby could get suspended soon.
Since Wembanyama picked up a flagrant foul in Game 4, he's one more flagrant foul away from receiving an automatic suspension.
Of course, the threat of a suspension doesn't mean much at this point considering the Spurs are one loss away from their season being over.
The NBA Finals will resume on Saturday when Game 5 begins at 8:30 p.m. ET.
