Rams Could Trade Former Second-Round Pick Before 2026 Season

The Los Angeles Rams are positioning themselves as a franchise ready to take over the league. From blockbuster trades such as the Myles Garrett move to drafting Ty Simpson in the 2026 NFL draft, the Rams are preparing for the future.

Now, the team is being encouraged to make a trade before the start of the new season. They’ve already had an active offseason, but why not go for more?

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report has released a new piece where he names one blockbuster trade each franchise should make before the 2026 season starts. “We could get more transactional fireworks this summer, or at least see moves that we expected teams to make, like the Brown deal, before final roster cuts on August 30,” he states.

For the Rams, Moton wants them to trade tight end Colby Parkinson.

“Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay’s offense features multiple tight ends in rotation, but it’s an overcrowded room,” he states in the piece, adding that the team signed Tyler Higbee to a two-year extension and picked Max Klare in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft.

So, the Rams have too many tight ends. That’s the issue, and Parkinson is the one who could really draw trade interest around the NFL.

Last season, Parkinson had a breakout showing and clocked career highs in catches at 43, receiving yards at 408 and touchdowns at eight. Those are impressive numbers, and of all the tight ends the Rams could stand to part with, he’s the one with the best shot at real trade juice.
